KASHCH GOZ
8min - black&white - 2 parts
Shot in two plans séquence in Kashch Goz, Kyrgyze village of the Wakhan corridor, this video installation embarks the viewer into an onirical journey where war, history, tribal structure, and child games collide. Edited in black and white, rouglhy cut, on a Sun Ra Arkestra jazz piece, “Kashch Goz” is a intriguing, memorable and disturbing statement on anthropological documentary.
PORTRAITS OF THE WAKHAN
25 min - black&white
This installation is made of 25 black and white video portraits of wakhi villagers shot in Kret, Afghanistan. It is a vibrant and intimate encounter experience that embarks the viewer into an emotional and silent confrontation. Pride, smiles, shyness and self derision mirror the commonly preconceived perception of Afghan people.
MARBET
mix media photo/video - 45 sec - color
This installation shows a photography and a 45 secondes video of the same scene, where young Marbet is covering her donkey with a carpet. On one side an iconographic image awarded for its aesthetic and visual power, on the other a raw footage that reveals the roughness of its context. In the middle, a personal questioning on our representation of the world.
